2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES

(SK) 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES je hudobno-poetické predstavenie pre flauto traverso sólo, hlas a elektroniku, ktoré prostredníctvom zbierky nových kompozícií, vytvorených špecificky pre tento projekt, rozjíma nad témou DOMOV v jeho najširšom slova zmysle. Predstavenie cez hlas, nástroj a telo performerky komunikuje rôznorodú škálu zvukov, slov, pohybov od konkrétnych až po abstraktné, a stáva sa tak akousi kolektívne prepojenou reflexiou nad tým, čo všetko DOMOV znamená a môže znamenať. Tieto abstraktné aj konkrétne významové vrstvy domova sú skúmané, zhmotnené a pretransformované do nových kompozícií vytvorených v úzkej spolupráci medzi performerkou a skladateľmi, v konečnom výsledku spolu tvoriace predstavenie 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES. Projekt momentálne obsahuje spoluprácu s a skladby od skladateľov/-liek Vojtěch Šembera (CZ), Wilson Leywantono (ID), Christine Cornwell (UK/NL), Anne La Berge (US/NL), Daniel Matej (SK) a Paul Zaba (UK), Legions Nonbinaryrussia (RU) a ďalší.

(EN) 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES is a musical-poetic performance for solo flute, voice and audio tapes which, through a body of new compositions created specifically for this project, explores the theme of HOME in its broadest sense. Through the voice, the music instrument and the body of the performer, the performance expresses a diverse palette of sounds, words, movements from concrete to abstract, becoming thus a collectively connected reflection on what HOME can mean. These abstract and concrete layers of the meaning of home are explored, materialized and transformed into new compositions created in a close collaboration between the performer and the composers, ultimately together creating the performance 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES. The project currently includes compositions and collaborations with the composers Vojtěch Šembera (CZ), Wilson Leywantono (ID), Christine Cornwell (UK/NL), Anne La Berge (US/NL), Daniel Matej (SK), Paul Zaba (UK) & Legions Nonbinaryrussia (RU).

Téma duality, ďalšej metaforickej roviny predstavenia, sa vinie všetkými skladbami ako pokus, či túžba, čo najbližšie prepojiť hlas nástroja s hlasom ľudským, ako (ne)symbióza medzi zvukom akustickým a zvukom elektronickým, ako poetická rozporuplnosť nachádzajúca sa v jednom tele interpretky, ako dialóg medzi performerkou a daným priestorom, daným momentom, daným publikom, a nakoniec ako túžba nájsť súznenie týchto rôznych dualít a rozpoznať ich ako rovnocenné, (ne)dokonalé, autentické súčasti jedného celku.

Úzka spolupráca medzi autorkou východiskovej myšlienky konceptu a oslovenými skladateľmi sa stala ústrednou tvorivou metódou projektu 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES, pričom táto spolupráca je kľúčová vo výslednej ´(ne)hudobnosti´, zvukovosti a ´performatívnosti´ predstavenia. Každý z oslovených skladateľov má autorke podobnú skúsenosť s dvoma domovmi, čo bolo jedným zo spájajúcich obsahových elementov ich spolupráce. Jedným z hlavných cieľov projektu je tiež iniciovať a rozširovať repertoár novej hudby pre staré nástroje, resp. konkrétne pre traverso, a tiež prepájať akustickosť traversa s elektronikou a hlasom prostredníctvom nových kompozícií.

V neposlednom rade, túžbou autorky projektu  2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES je tiež narúšať a rozširovať hranice ´hudobného predstavenia´ prostredníctvom prepájania (zdanlivo) protipólnych expresívnych nástrojov 18. a 21. storočia, zapojenia vlastností a performatívnych možností daného priestoru, pohybu a flexibility samotnej performerky.

Predstavenie 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES malo svoju svetovú premiéru v rámci cyklu (Nová) Hudba na Rázcestí v apríli 2024, a svoju (druhú) slovenskú premiéru na Nová hudba v SNG 49 v Slovenskej národnej galérií v decembri 2024. Svoju českú premiéru mali 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES na medzinárodnom festivale súčasnej hudby Setkávaní nové hudby PLUS v decembri 2024.

The theme of duality, another methaporical layer of the performance, weaves through all compositions as a desire to connect as close as possible the instrument´s voice with the human voice, as a (non)symbiosis between the acoustic sound and electronic sound, as a poetic contradiction living in one body of the performer and the given space, moment, audience, and finally as a desire to find harmony or resonance of these various dualities a recognize them as equal, (im)perfect, authentic parts of one whole.

The close collaboration between the author of the concept and the involved composers has become the main creative method of 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES while this collaboration is essential in the resulting (non)musicality, sonority and ´performativity´ of the performance. Each of the involved composers has a similar experience to myself with two homes, which was (also) one of the connecting elements of their collaboration. One of the goals of the project is also initiating and expanding of the new music repertoire for early instruments, concretely for traverso, as well as merging the acoustic quality of the traverso with electonics and voice through these new compositions.

Lastly, the desire of the author of 2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES is to disrupt and expand the boundaries of the ´musical performance´ through interconnections of (seemingly) opposite expressive tools of 18. and 21. centuries, considering the characteristic of the given space, movement and flexibility of the performer-interpreter.

2 DOMOVY : 2 HOMES had its world premiere at the concert series (Nová) Hudba na Rázcestí in april 2024, and its (second) slovak premiere at Nová hudba v SNG 49 at the Slovak national gallery in december 2024. The Czech premiere of 2 HOMES : 2 DOMOVY was at the international festival for new music Setkávaní nové hudby PLUS in december 2024.
